Educator, Herbalist, Author and Illustrator
Phoenix Fermin is the Founder of Sacred Tree Farms, a Certified Herbalist, Horticulturist, Educator, Author and Illustrator. Phoenix is a seasoned expert with over a decade of experience in community resource development, project management, landscape design with a permaculture focus and curriculum development designer. She supervised university students and community organizations as the Director of Education at Lichgate on High Road, a historic site in Tallahassee and educational gardens in her role as Executive Director with Damayan Garden Project. Phoenix maintained the teaching collection of plants for research in plant physiology for the Department of Biological Sciences at a Florida State University campus facility, which included pad-and-fan cooled, heated, and computer controlled greenhouses. She worked at one of the first medical dispensaries in Florida where she helped with the registration and renewal process with the Department of Health, and taught classes in herbalism and holistic health that offered Continuing Education Units to Nurses, Acupuncturists, Massage Therapists, Dietitians, and Midwives. Over the years, Phoenix has organized a variety of community events with community leaders, government agencies, city bureaus, and local business. Her wide range of expertise always revolved around plants, education and providing consultation services. She provides solid work ethic to each client, fully dedicates herself, and offers the best strategy for the client's needs.

"Calming Bodies" is a book that doubles as a strategy book/toolkit for teachers and a visual guide for children to calm their bodies. Phoenix wrote the manuscript and contributed creative content in collaboration with resident developmental and school psychologists to create the structure of the book.
